Here is a brief description of the tour

An amazing sunset with an aperitivo! Keep your morning in Florence free until 2pm and then travel in the Chianti region along amazing sceneries, fun facts about the Italian cooking habits, stops in the cities of San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Siena. The price of the tour also includes a private wine tasting with lesson and light lunch, an aperitivo while watching the sun setting from the hills of Siena and a typical and yummy Tuscan dinner! Don’t miss the chance to achieve more during your day in Tuscany!

A small group tour lets you save money by sharing a mini Van (the max number of people for this tour is 8): it is the perfect solution for those who want to keep the costs down and at the same time touch as many destinations as possible without being in a 54 a seater bus

WINE TASTING
We start wih a bang. A taste of Chianti! Winery. You can spend a pleasant and beautiful time to relax, enjoying fine wines along with salami, prosciutto, cheese, olive oil... but mainly, you will live a unique experience and will be in contact with the Italians and with our simple, friendly and genuine way to behave with our guests, transmitting to all the people who come to visit, sympathy, warmth and smile, because the wine is love, poetry and imagination!

SAN GIMIGNANO
After 30 minutes drive we’ll arrive to the city which is famous for its many towers or the many Vernaccia wine bottles if you prefer :) But we’ll do it at about 5pm, when all the crowds are gone and the town is all yours! San Gimignano ‘delle belle Torri’ (of the beautilful towers) is just 56 km south of Florence. It served as an important relay point for pilgrims travelling to or from Rome on the Via Francigena. The patrician families who controlled the town built around 72 tower-houses (some as high as 50 m) as symbols of their wealth and power. Although only 14 have survived, San Gimignano has retained its feudal atmosphere and appearance. The town also has several masterpieces of 14th- and 15th-century Italian art. Tea with Mussolini, a 1999 drama about the plight of English and American expatriate women in Italy during World War II, was filmed in part at San Gimignano. The frescoes that the women save from being destroyed during the German Army’s withdrawal are inside the Duomo, the town’s main church.

MONTERIGGIONI
Our day trip takes us now through the picturesque countryside of the Chianti region, a magical landscape of cypress trees, vineyards and olive groves you’ll recognize from Renaissance paintings. We’ll make our next stop in the beautiful castle of Monteriggioni where you’ll have a half hour to walk around. Sitting on a small natural hillock, this completely walled medieval town in the Siena Province of Tuscany was built in the 13th century by the overlords of Siena to command the Cassia Road running through the Val d’Elsa and Val Staggia just to the west of Monteriggioni. The sun will be about to set and the colours you will be able to see from the walk along the ancient walls of the small little castle will be priceless.

SIENA
After driving for 15 minutes (Siena is just 8 miles from Monteriggioni) we arrive in the famous PALIO city at 7pm. Located in the heart of Tuscany, this is Italy´s best preserved medieval city and once was a wealthy, warlike independent state during the Middle Ages. Then Siena experienced a few hundred years of poverty after its final defeat by Florence. Since then, it has maintained its lovely medieval buildings and Gothic architecture, and today’s new constructions adapt to this character and beauty. We will be there just in time for the sunset which we will watch from the walls of the city sipping some delicious white wine and having our own personal aperitivo (included in the price) surrounded by the best valley of the region. The PALIO city is home to one of the oldest Universities in Europe, which adds for a vibrant student atmosphere and a bustling daily life, it offers many cultural events, concerts, cinema, theatre and a wide range of sporting activities. In the summer, there is the Jazz Festival, and the classical concert by the Accademia Musicale Chigiana. Siena stores offer many locally made items, such as, leather products, neckties, fabrics, glazed terracotta, gold jewellery, and of course local food, such as, Panforte, Ricciarelli, Pici and many wines. Every Wednesday morning a huge market is held around the Fortezza Mediceana. After watching the sunset you will have one more hour to go around the shops or the main monuments of the city and right after that we head to dinner (included in the price)!

RESTAURANT
At the typical small restaurant, generally used by locals more than tourists a yummy tuscan dinner with typical meats and pastas and obviously wine will be waiting for you. After dinner our driver will bring you back to your hotel for a good night sleep!
